Branch drop off is free for Springfield residents until the end of March 2023. PLEASE NOTE: Evans has changed their process and is requesting residents to bring their CWLP bill (including the page that lists the “Waste & Recycling” service fee) as proof of residency. NO OTHER FORM OF ID will be accepted. Only City of Springfield residents pay a monthly "Waste & Recycling" sevice fee on their CWLP bill. This service fee covers the cost of programs like this drop off program, year-round yard waste pick-up, electronic recycling drop off and other events like household hazardous waste collection events.
Showing your CWLP bill also allows Springfield residents the ability to drop off yard waste for $1 per bag.
Evans Recycling is located at 2100 J. David Jones Parkway and is open Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. – 12-noon. Evans Recycling’s contact number is 217.370.3780. Smaller branches may also be broken up and placed in yard waste bags or containers as part of the City's bi-weekly yard waste pick-up.
Residents who drop off their branches to Evans Recycling may request a “City Tag”. After your address is verified using your CWLP bill, you may request a tag. Those who do not want to continue to bring their CWLP bill may keep the city tag in their vehicle and show it each time they check-in to drop off their branches or yard waste bags. Residents may also stop by the Office of Public Works, 300 S. 7th Street, 2nd Floor to receive a “City Tag” You do not need to bring your CWLP bill to Public Works. They will verify residents through their system. The office is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
