To set the course for land use and development across Springfield for the next twenty years, the City of Springfield is partnering with the Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission to develop a roadmap for our community’s future.
An 11-person steering committee is guiding the land use planning process and includes the mayor, the directors of public works and economic development, as well as citizens. The city has also partnered with the Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission to oversee the process which will include a final report that will be completed by early spring.
This section of our website has been created to tell you more about comprehensive plans and why they are done, as well as keep you up-to-date on the project.
